Linda Cooper

Having moved around the continental United States while growing up, Linda Cooper eventually purchase property in a canyon on the backside of the Mohave Desert in Southern California, where she lived alone for years before marrying Gilbert Cooper. After 5 years of a great marriage, Gilbert died of cancer. Linda loved living in the remote desert foothills, but because of health concerns, she eventually realized she needed to move into town. Linda, now retired, is able to concentrate on her writing desires. She lives in Apple Valley, California.

She graduated from Venice High School, in the Los Angeles area, and worked for RCA Records for 18 years as computer assistant. She then moved north where she worked for ORFECO--Oral Fertilizer Company—in Oral, South Dakota and Highway Service in Custer, South Dakota, as a computer operator. She then obtained a job working for the U.S. Forest Service in Cody, Wyoming, and eventually transferred back to the California desert.

Linda was co-president of The Elvis Presley Fan Club of Southern California—EPFCFC— working closely with Col. Parker’s Hollywood office. Before that, she was the U.S. Representative for The Elvis Presley United Internationals, an England-based fan club.

As an Elvis fan, Linda also likes southern gospel and country music. She still likes the 50s rock, which she enjoyed in high school. She is a Christian, has been active in church in California, South Dakota, and Wyoming for nearly 57 years, taught Sunday school for over 45 years, and sang in the choir.
Linda began writing Contemporary Christian fiction approximately 25 years ago, although her desire to write began in her teen years. She’s a member of the High Desert Branch of the California Writers Club. “I am a Christian first and a writer second, and I hope my writing reflects that,” she states.

JahJon is two years younger than Elvis—and is not a young man at the time this story begins. Apparently, I didn’t make that clear enough in the first printing. I have corrected the problems that I know about, but if you purchase the books from me, I still have some of the original ones on hand. Also, not clear in Book 1, JahJon is an amnesia victim suffering with PTSD. But then he didn’t know his story until Book 2, so how could I tell you? And my ending of book one is not abrupt enough—doesn’t sound enough like an ending. The problems in my first book were made clear to me by my readers, and I do apologies for the confusion. But then, it is the confused beginning. Right?I believe the problem is corrected in the more current edition.

JahJon- Saga of a Country Singer
(Books 1 through 5)

Book 1 – The Confused Beginning
JahJon is pronounced more like Jaw John, not Jay John.

Outspoken Southern California Christian author Lyndi Webb publishes a book about Elvis Presley. Amazingly, this leads her into the midst of the Nashville country music scene, where Lyndi’s determined ways often get her into trouble.

Strong-willed Nashville music executive JahJon Johnson suffers from memory and health problems. While in Memphis for his annual Elvis tribute gig, he meets Lyndi and finds her impetuousness daunting and hard to resist as he protects her from her ex-boss’s threats.

Unwilling at first, JahJon and Lyndi are brought together, and with Lyndi's help JahJon struggles to fulfill what seems to him to be an impossible dream.

Book 2 – Where Will This Lead?

  • Will JahJon actually start a successful career in country Music?
  • Will Lyndi be with him as he tries to become a successful singer, or will she have to return to California?
  • What will the military do about JahJon being AWOL—absent without leave—for eight long years?
The start of JahJon’s singing career is full of ups and downs, hurts and heartaches, fears, and emotions which he would rather do without. Where will it all lead? Will he succeed with his dream of being a Country Western singer, or will the struggle be more than he can handle?

Book 3 – JahJon Lives Again

JahJon’s new life has much excitement and some big surprises in store.

His former archrival, Tom Cummings, has become one of his best friends and his record producer. However, Tom also has a surprise or two coming.
With a new wife in tow, touring, recordings, and the excitement of being an entertainer, JahJon faces more changes. Are he and Lyndi ready for that? Who is that young lady who keeps yelling at JahJon during his concert in Memphis?

The Alaskan vacation, promised to Lyndi as a delayed honeymoon, starts out rather damp and rough. Lyndi loves grizzlies, but can she continue loving them after this Alaskan experience? And just what is awaiting them back in Nashville?

Book 4 – Retirement

JahJon’s career grows. He has his own TV Show, headlines his own tour, and continues recording and songwriting, while life at home gets more and more complicated. The fast pace of his life takes its toll. His age starts to show. He’s tired. Lyndi’s pastor in California suggests he turn his large house into a retirement home.

You may think that’s the end of the excitement, but it’s only the beginning, and the changes are never-ending.

Between the weather, the state of the world, and life in a house full of cantankerous old people, it’s enough to make these the residents draw closer and closer to their Lord, the neighbors, and to one another. These senior citizens find this really is the prime of their lives, even with its ups and downs, shocks and surprises, and unpredictable tomorrows.

Book 5 – The Living End
If you have been looking for adventure, don’t miss the conclusion of the JahJon series. As the world we live in changes, life at JJ’s Retirement Home also change. The increase in inclement weather, the unrest in the streets, and the violence around them, along with the growing threat of war and uncertain politics cause concerns and actions that none at the home are
quite prepared for. It’s their undying faith in the Lord that keeps them going. The ending confusion in the neighborhood will stand your hair on end.

Mom?

Sitting in church that Sunday morning Sierra Mitchell had no idea of the problems the young man sitting in front of her was going to bring into her life. Nor did she know that a trip to Washington, DC, for a book signing, would nearly get her killed. But looking back, she wouldn’t have changed a minute of it.

Collins Tomlinson was the young man’s name. That’s all she knew about him, other than the fact that he was a DC local.

What she later learned was that Collins worked very closely with the President of the Unites State—and his brother worked very strongly against the President. That, she found out, was an explosive combination. But it gave her a chance to spout off to the President about issues that bothered her.

After an unusual trip across the country, and some exciting days in California with Collins, Sierra was again living in her Southern California desert paradise while Collins had returned to DC.But he was not having an easy time. His work was becoming complicated due to an archrival named Tom. And then there was this secretary they called Susie Q.

Will Sierra once again be caught up in Washington politics and intrigue?
